The spade flange type BS (paddle blind) is used to reliably shut off the flow of media in pipelines, containers or industrial plants. It is also suitable for defined test conditions – e.g. for pressure tests, pressure tests or leak tests – when pipe sections need to be specifically closed and tested.
Select the design to suit your flange connection via nominal size (DN) and nominal pressure (PN). For deviating specifications (material, special DN/PN or project-specific requirements), we will be happy to provide you with a quote.
The spade flange (solid washer / pipe stop washer) type BS is used for the temporary separation of pipes, for example for maintenance work, pressure tests or leak tests.
It is installed as an intermediate flange component by positioning the spade flange between two flanges and then fixing it in place using the flange screw connection.
After insertion, the gaskets are correctly aligned, the screws are inserted and the connection is tightened evenly so that a stable clamping and secure shut-off of the pipeline section can be achieved.
The installation can be used to temporarily isolate a section of a pipeline, an industrial filter or a pressure vessel from the rest of the pipeline network.
