The spectacle blind disk type US (also known as a push-on disk) is the right solution when a media flow in pipelines, containers or industrial plants needs to be reliably shut off – e.g. for maintenance, conversion or testing purposes. It is often used for pressure tests, pressure tests and leak tests because the shut-off can be produced clearly and reproducibly.
The special advantage: The spectacle blind disk combines two functions in one component. You can switch between the spade flange (solid disk) for shutting off and the ring spacer (open disk) for releasing the passage by simply plugging or turning it – quickly, clearly and without additional individual parts.

Mounting as intermediate flange (rotating gland/removable disk)

The spectacle blinds are designed as an intermediate flange component and are inserted between two flanges.
The desired position (passage/ring or shut-off/full disc) is set by turning or repositioning the goggles; the flange connection is then screwed evenly so that a secure clamping is created in the connection.

Prior to installation work, a depressurized, drained and secured pipe section is required, as work on open flange connections may only be carried out under safe operating conditions.
