The ring spacer type LS (also known as a paddle spacer) is a reliable solution when a spade flange (line blind) is removed for maintenance or testing purposes and the flange connection still needs to remain professionally closed. The full bore makes type LS particularly suitable for pressure tests, pressure tests and leak tests in piping systems and plant components.

Mounting the ring spacer (ring spacer) type LS

The ring spacer (ring washer/open washer) type LS is designed as an intermediate flange component and is inserted between two flanges.
The full bore version is used as a placeholder when a spade flange is temporarily removed so that the flange connection can be operated with a defined installation length.

For assembly, the flange connection is loosened, the ring spacer is inserted between the flanges in the desired position and then the gaskets (new gaskets are recommended) are inserted and the screws are refitted and tightened evenly to achieve a flat contact and reproducible clamping.
